From Dee:

I have enjoyed being in touch with those who have submitted short responses to our education alum magazine article requests over the last few years, but I need to pass the baton.  Looking for someone to send out the requests and forward the collective responses only a few times per year. Thanks so much!

Catherine Steely Garces: Since completing my Moravian Masters Thesis, I was lucky to be married in June to my wonderful husband who I dated in college some 15 years ago.  We reconnected after all of those years!  We are buying a house in Palmer Township, and are hoping to get a puppy really soon.  I am still teaching Kindergarten at Cheston Elementary School in Easton.  I have continued to work on my professional development within my school.
Polly Hunt: When completing my master’s work I studied the effect of parent involvement on homework completion.  As a result of my outcomes, that more parent involvement both increased student involvement in class and effected scores on assessments, I began tutoring an adult in reading through ProJeCt of Easton.  This has led me to look into connecting data on the differences in student involvement in the classroom due to parent illiteracy.  Although this will be an informal study for my own needs, I credit the years of course work at Moravian for my continued interest in studying my own work.  I am an active member on our EASD’s Diversity Committee and bring the ProJeCt of Easton to our annual trainings.

Julia is in her tenth year of teaching at Easton Area High School; she teaches Spanish 2 and 3. She is starting the art unit with her Spanish 3 classes, developed as part of her thesis.
