Moravian recognized for academic quality and social mobility

Bethlehem, PA, September 15, 2020: Today, Moravian College announced it has been ranked #140 in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 rankings of National Liberal Arts Colleges and #55 in Top Performers on Social Mobility. The U.S. News & World Report rankings, which were released on September 14, are the latest in a list of national media outlets recognizing Moravian College; including The Princeton Review, Money Magazine, and Washington Monthly.

“Once again, Moravian College has been recognized by national media outlets for high academic quality and this is a direct result of the ongoing work of students, faculty, and staff year after year,” said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian College. “The social mobility ranking recognizes Moravian’s efforts to enroll and support disadvantaged students, and we’re very proud those efforts are acknowledged in this announcement.”

The U.S. News rankings compare bachelor's degree granting institutions from across the U.S. on 17 diverse measures of academic quality. The 2021 rankings include 223 National Liberal Arts Colleges. According to the U.S. News & World Report website “The data used in these rankings pertain to fall 2019 and earlier. Consequently, the COVID-19 pandemic could not impact the data schools submitted to U.S. News.”
