Moravian University announces U.S. News & World Report 2022 rankings

Moravian recognized for academic quality and social mobility

Bethlehem, PA, September 16, 2021: Today, Moravian University announced it has been ranked #141 in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of National Liberal Arts Colleges and #98 in Top Performers on Social Mobility. The U.S. News & World Report rankings, which were released on September 13, are the latest in a list of national media outlets recognizing Moravian University; including The Princeton Review, Forbes and Washington Monthly.

“Even after a difficult couple of years with the global pandemic, Moravian University has been recognized for its dedication to students and continued high academic quality,” said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian University. “We’re proud of the high social mobility ranking as well, and work continues in that area.  Our students, faculty and staff should be proud of this recognition from multiple media outlets.”

The U.S. News rankings compare bachelor's degree granting institutions from across the U.S. on 17 diverse measures of academic quality. The 2022 rankings include 225 National Liberal Arts Colleges. Fewer than half of the nation’s higher educational institutions—about 1,466 colleges and universities—are ranked in any category by the publication.

According to the U.S. News & World Report web page “U.S. News surveyed schools in the spring and summer of 2021. Some of this information published on our website – most notably tuition and fees – reflect the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. However, the latest data available for the ranking calculations pertained to fall 2020 and earlier. Notably, SAT/ACT scores mostly reflect a test-taking period from 2019 to early 2020, before the effects of the coronavirus were felt in the United States.”
