Year 1: Begin a new journey

During your first year at Moravian, Elevate will introduce you to the college experience. You’ll learn about the four areas of focus that will guide your studies and extracurricular pursuits. These include Teamwork and Leadership, Global Experience, Work Experience, and Career Support

By the end of your first year, you’ll have the lay of the land and a good idea of what to expect from the Elevate experience over the next few years.

Apple Technology

Before you even begin classes, you’ll receive your new Apple technology—a MacBook Pro, iPad, and Pencil. These are yours to keep during your time at Moravian and even after you graduate!

Career Assessment

Take an online personality type and career assessment to help your Career Development Strategist guide you in the major and career exploration process.

Moravian 101: Navigating Academics & Class Planning

This online course will include information on billing and financial aid, the student and advisor relationship, major and degree planning, academic resources, and how to have a successful transition to college.

Advising Team

Connect with your advising team, including your academic advisor and career strategist, for the first time during New Student Orientation. They’ll be with you throughout your four years at Moravian and can answer all of your questions about classes, internships, career goals, and more!

Bronze Career Readiness Badges

This year is all about getting acclimated and transitioning from high school to college. You’re encouraged to get involved with our student organizations and sports teams, participate in special programing such as Professor Connect and the Humanities Fellowship, get comfortable with your Apple technology, attend lectures and workshops happening on campus, and take classes that push you out of your comfort zone. These activities can earn you points toward your Bronze Career Readiness Badges!
