2002 Young Alumni Achievement Award
Scott D. Pfeiffer '92
The Moravian College Alumni Association is delighted to present Scott D. Pfeiffer '92 with its 2002 Young Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his exceptional career in architectural acoustics.
After receiving a bachelor of science in physics from Moravian in 1992 with honors in music, Scott studied acoustical engineering at the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby, Denmark for the 1992-93 academic year. Scott then joined Kirkegaard Associates in Chicago, Illinois, where he is an associate, serving as senior consultant in architectural acoustics and project manager for acoustic renovation or design of new facilities. His initial duties at Kirkegaard included developing measurement and analysis software and conducting measurements and acoustic studies. He has managed projects and conducted studies around the globe on facilities such as Orchestra Hall, Chicago; Royal Festival Hall, London; Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Scotland; China Trust Music Hall, Taiwan; Maui Multi-Cultural Performing Arts Center, Hawaii; New York State Theater and the Juilliard Theatre at Lincoln Center, New York; Boston Symphony Hall, Boston; Academy of Music, Philadelphia; Teatro de Colon, Buenos Ares, Argentina; and Sala Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Scott is the president of his local chapter of the Acoustic Society of America (ASA) and chaired the Spring 2001 national meeting of the Acoustical Society of America that was held in Chicago. He lives in Downers Grove, Illinois, with his wife, Becci, and their two children, Benjamin and Abigail.
