Personal

All benefits-eligible support staff*, with the approval of supervision and after the employee has completed their conditional period, may take two personal days (15 hours) with pay during the calendar year. After the fifth year of service (beginning at 61 months), each support staff member is entitled to three personal days (22.5 hours) with pay each calendar year. At the eleventh year of service (beginning at 121 months) the support staff member is entitled to a fourth personal day (30 hours). Personal days may be used in increments of 3.75 hours (half day) or 7.5 hours (whole day).

Personal days may not be accumulated and carried into a new year. Personal days are not a terminable benefit and are not payable upon termination of employment.

Support staff hired to fill a 9 or 10 month support staff positions will be limited to a maximum of two (2) personal days on an annual basis. Part-time support staff hired after January 1, 2003, are ineligible for personal days.

*Not applicable to administrative staff or faculty.

 

FMPC and Campus Police Support Staff Personal Days

Benefits eligible support staff, with the approval of supervision and after the employee has completed their conditional period, may take two personal days (16 hours) during the calendar year. After the fifth year of service (beginning at 61 months), each support staff member is entitled to three personal days (24 hours) with pay each calendar year. At the eleventh year of service (beginning at 121 months) the support staff member is entitled to a fourth personal day (32 hours).

FMPC and Campus Police personnel can take personal days in increments of 2 hours (quarter), 4 hours (half day), or 8 hours (whole day).

Personal days may not be accumulated and carried into a new year. Personal days are not a terminable benefit and are not paid upon termination of employment. Campus Police Officer/Security have different accrual rules that apply to personal days. All other rules pertaining to personal time are applicable to Campus Police and FMPC staff.
