Academic Support

Academic Support partners with faculty and campus resources to enrich student learning across disciplines and beyond them. We help students build long-term learning strategies for success by emphasizing their autonomy as learners through:

• drop-in, group tutoring for key courses and subjects;
• supplemental instruction in several science gateway courses;
• content tutoring individually and in small groups for many classes;
• a variety of skills sessions focused on “studenting skills”; 
• academic planning support.  

With these resources, we are encouraging students to build tools to be successful in all of their classes and, ultimately, in earning their degree at Moravian.  Services are free and available to all enrolled students.

Intramural Sports

Moravian College intramural sports program provides competition among members of campus organizations, residence halls, and student groups. Intramurals consists of league in sports such as flag football, floor hockey, indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and ultimate frisbee along with one day events. Teams can be formed from any group of full-time students, faculty and/or staff or sign up as an individual and you can be placed on a team. If you have an interest in a sport that is not listed or an idea for an intramural offering please reach out to farkasd@moravian.edu

Dining Care Packages

Did you know that Dining Services offers fresh-baked care packages for your Hound’s birthday or just because? Find cookies, cupcakes and birthday cakes, or even a three-foot hoagie here. Your student will receive a notification via email when their goodies are ready for pickup. Pickup in The Star on North Campus or Clewell Dining Hall on South Campus.

Residence Hall Openings & Closings Policies

• Students remaining on campus over breaks must register online by the Monday before the start of the break/closing.
• Unregistered students may be subject to Student Conduct and/or fees.
• Halls reopen at 10AM on the Sunday prior to classes starting for the Fall and Spring semesters.
• Halls reopen at Noon during semester breaks.
• Students are expected to depart for breaks after their last class/exam.
• Residents with extenuating circumstances who anticipate needing housing during college closures (i.e. winter break) are highly encouraged to live in the HILL. If a resident elects not to live in the HILL, we may not be able to accommodate their request.

Career & Civic Engagement

NYC Student & Alumni Networking Reception October 29, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | New York Athletic Club 180 Central Park South
Students interested in living/working/interning in NYC (or the surrounding area) are encouraged to attend and connect with alumni in New York! Advanced registration is REQUIRED. Space is limited. A $10 deposit is due at registration and will be returned after attending the event. Note: the bus departs campus at 2:00 p.m. due to employer site visits before the event. Students may sign-up in the Center for Career and Civic Engagement.

Our biggest, on-campus, professional networking event! Students will meet with alumni from diverse occupations to help them as they plan their career.

Partnering for Student Success and Development

The Office of Student Development partners with the entire campus community, including families of current students, to ensure a safe environment conducive to the educational mission of the College.

The office receives reports from Campus Police, Resident Assistants (RAs), faculty, staff, students and others. Each report is reviewed to determine appropriate or necessary actions. These may include reaching out to offer support services and/or investigating and adjudicating allegations of College policy violations.

Hispanic Heritage Month | September 15th- October 15th
Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) is a national celebration to honor the contributions Hispanic and Latinx Americans have made to our society. This year’s events highlight the diverse stories, food cultures, contributions, and histories of the Latinx Community. Observation of Hispanic Heritage Month is key to our commitment to recognizing and honoring all members of our Moravian community.

Title IX and Sexual Violence in College

College students are at an elevated risk for experiencing unwanted sexual contact, especially during the first six weeks of the fall semester, called the Red Zone. National statistics show that 1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men experience sexual assault at some point during their time in college, and that the LGBTQ+ population is at even higher risk.

Spring and Summer Course Registration

AMOS online registration will open the last week of October by earned units/credits for students wishing to register for spring and/or summer courses. Students will login to AMOS, go to the College Student Tab and then the Online Registration/Schedule sub-tab on their assigned day. Advisor Registration Clearance, on AMOS, is required for online registration to officially open/activate for the student. Students may contact the Registrar’s Office with additional questions at any time!

Veteran & Military Affairs

Military students face unique challenges when transitioning from military life to college life. Moravian College’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs is devoted to assisting veterans and military connected students in achieving their post-secondary educational goals. Moravian College is committed to providing the necessary resources and support to help them succeed in and out of the classroom. The office is here to assist veterans with their education benefits (GI Bill), military-connected students with their parent or spouses transferred GI Bill and students currently serving in the reserve or National Guard with their educational assistance program. Additionally, work has begun to establish a student veteran organization on campus to support their transition from military and re-establish a connection to the community.

The Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is located in Reeves Library in Room 209. The Veteran Student Lounge is also located in Reeves Library in Room 213.

Counseling Center

Adjusting to college and meeting academic and social demands can be stressful. Students can find support at the counseling center where services are free to full-time students. About 1 in 5 students seek help at the counseling center every year. We work with students on a variety of issues with the most common including anxiety, depression, social anxiety, peer and family conflict, and academic distress. Therapists are available to help students with any challenge they are facing. Students can make an appointment by calling 610-861-1510 or emailing counselingcenter@moravian.edu. Counseling center staff also offers many other therapeutic and educational activities throughout the year. This year we have started two new therapy groups as well as weekly stress reduction sessions. These sessions introduce students to a variety of activities that encourage mindfulness and self-care. The Moravian College Counseling Center is located at 1307 Main Street and is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays.
