What inspired you to attend Moravian?

I connected with a recruiter at a college fair, and we talked for a while about all Moravian has to offer. That night, I applied and got ready to tour the campus. I spent time exploring other schools, but after attending Accepted Students Day, I felt a sense of community that was unmatched. With the amount of resources and support provided by students and faculty, I knew Moravian would be where I could reach my full potential.

What inspired you to pursue your major?

I have always enjoyed and excelled at math. When I reached eighth grade, I had a teacher who supported and challenged me to go deeper. From there, I focused on learning more about math and what I'd want to pursue. I enjoy using my skills to problem-solve and help others.

What are your career goals and desired profession?

My goal is to continue growing my skills through my work and find a fulfilling job. I plan to work as a data or research analyst, where I can problem-solve and collaborate with my peers.

How has your experience at Moravian contributed to your personal growth?

During my time at Moravian, I have grown from a caterpillar to a butterfly. I started unsure of myself and lacking confidence in my skills. Through completing the RISE program, stepping up for leadership roles across campus, taking on challenging coursework, and being a student worker, I have grown immensely. Receiving continuous support from staff, faculty, and my peers has been the driving force for my development. I now have confidence in my leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. I feel comfortable resolving conflicts and problem-solving in any given situation. On top of this, I have developed a strong sense of self and built connections to last a lifetime.

If you met someone new and had to describe yourself in one sentence, what would you say about yourself?

I am creative, bubbly, empathetic, and I love a good challenge.

What is one word to describe your Moravian experience?

Empowering.

What are your favorite student experiences at Moravian? Why?

Serving as a participant and now team leader for The 1742 Experience has been one of my favorite experiences at Moravian. Our pre-orientation program welcomes incoming freshmen through a week of community service and team-building activities. When I was a participant, I came out feeling confident and comfortable starting my first year on campus. I see that within my participants as well, which is extremely rewarding.

This past spring, I served as the Stage Manager for our Theatre Company's production of Chameleon, written and directed by one of our students. I poured everything I had into the project, and it was monumental for our company. I helped with writing, workshopping, casting, building sets, controlling the lighting and sound, and much more. I grew immensely in that position and connected deeply with everyone involved. Moving forward, I aspire to direct my own productions and potentially write a play of my own.

I joined the Paris trip this year using my Elevate fund, and it was the journey of a lifetime. I had never left the country before, and going with a group of Moravian students and faculty made it all the more special. Having multiple disabilities, I was nervous about the trip and how to navigate in a completely new environment. Thankfully, our group was supportive, and I ended up having an amazing time. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, and now I can say I have been to the top of it.

Thank You

I want to express my sincere gratitude for your donation in support of Moravian students. The first time I visited campus, I knew Moravian would be home. Initially, I could not attend without additional financial support. When I was awarded more aid, I confidently submitted my deposit, knowing I could continue my education.

I am only able to attend Moravian because of the financial aid and scholarships made possible by donors like you. I have used this opportunity to give back to the Moravian community. So far, I have made the Dean’s List every semester, worked as a student assistant for the Sociology and Anthropology Department, and dedicated countless hours to several campus clubs. This year, I will be directing a full production for our Theatre Company. Your support has allowed me to achieve everything I have set my mind to. Thank you for your generosity and for being a pivotal part of my journey.
