Blossoming at Moravian

Jordan Guerrier ’27

“Without Moravian, I would not be the person I am today. I just blossomed when I got here.”

When Jordan Guerrier ’27 arrived at Moravian University, she was lost—literally. During her first campus visit, Jordan and her mother wandered into the Sally Miksiewicz Breidegam Center for Health Sciences, unsure where to go. A kind welcome from a member of the Moravian community immediately made her feel at home.

Now a junior majoring in psychology with a minor in biology, Jordan has found that same sense of belonging throughout her Moravian experience. As a mentor through programs like PUMP and Goals, president of the ECO Club, and president of the Physics Club, she has embraced opportunities to lead, connect with others, and challenge herself. She also competes in cheer and has grown academically, athletically, and personally.

“Without Moravian, I would not be the person I am today,” Jordan says. “I just blossomed when I got here.”

For Jordan, her growth is especially meaningful to her parents, who immigrated to the United States from Jamaica and Haiti. As a first-generation college student and a member of Tri Alpha honor society, Jordan is living a dream her parents hoped to make possible for their daughter. Support she received through the Baucus & Company Scholarship Fund and Andrea Creitz Memorial Scholarship Fund has made her education accessible.

“Thank you for making my parents’ dream come true,” she says. “Without your support, I would not have been able to be where I am today.”
