Application Tips
Overview
Applying to the School of Theology is easy, and the sooner you begin, the better. Some parts of the process, such as requesting transcripts and references, can take more time than you think.
Do you live outside the United States? Is English not your native language?
Visit moravianseminary.edu/international for additional admission requirements.
Only looking to audit or enroll as a non-degree student?
A shortened application form is available here. You must request official transcripts from past schools.

- Follow this link to the Application Portal to sign up
- Enter your name and email address
- Check your email for a link to set your password
- After setting your password, you can save and return to the application as often as needed

- Bookmark this page so that you can easily return at any time.

Your application journey
1. Create your application (30 minutes)
Start your online application and save your progress anytime. You’ll choose your:
- Degree level
- Program
- Preferred start term
2. Order your transcripts (1–2 weeks)
Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities you’ve attended.
Applying as a non-degree student? You’re done — skip to step 6.
3. Choose your references (30 minutes)
All degree and certificate programs require two references:
- A vocational mentor or pastor
- A professor or employer
4. Write your personal statement (1–3 days)
Submit an autobiographical essay (2–4 pages) addressing:
- Two experiences that led you to pursue this program
- What you learned from each experience
- How they’ll shape your seminary journey
5. Track your materials (1–2 weeks)
Check your application portal regularly to monitor incoming transcripts and references. You can:
- Send reminders through the portal
- Swap out references if needed
- See exactly what's been received
Once everything arrives, your application is complete.
6. Application review (5–10 business days)
Our Admissions Committee reviews complete applications on a rolling basis. You may be invited for an interview as part of the review process.
7. Receive your decision (3–5 business days after review)
We'll mail your official admissions letter with the next steps for enrollment, course registration, financial aid, accessibility services, and more.
