Office of the General Counsel
The Vice President and General Counsel (General Counsel) serves as legal counsel for Moravian University, including its Board of Trustees, officers, colleges, schools, and academic and administrative departments. The office handles various legal matters such as employment, equal opportunity and nondiscrimination, corporate transactions, litigation and dispute resolution, real estate, legal compliance, and university governance.
General Counsel provides legal advice to members of the Moravian University community solely in the context of their role as employees or as authorized agents or representatives of the university. Any legal documents or communications from external attorneys, including subpoenas, should be directed to the General Counsel.

About the Office of General Counsel
Heather K. Hosfeld, Esq. serves as Moravian University’s first Vice President and General Counsel. Appointed to this role in 2024, Hosfeld brings over 20 years of expertise in higher education law to the university. She holds a Juris Doctor from Temple University, a Paralegal Certificate from Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Moravian College.
Hosfeld is a member of the Pennsylvania, Northampton County, and Lehigh County Bar Associations, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Read more.
