Moravian University Campus Community News and Events

CAMPUS BUZZ

Quote of the Day

“It is not external events themselves that cause us distress, but the way in which we think about them, our interpretation of their significance. It is our attitudes and reactions that give us trouble. We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we respond to them.“—Epictetus (AD 55–135)

We’re a Tree Campus USA!buzz 3_0.jpg

At the Arbor Day tree planting on April 27, Frank Kuserk, professor of biology share the good news that Moravian University has earned 2015 Tree Campus USA recognition. Tree Campus USA, a national program launched in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation. To obtain this distinction, Moravian University has met the five core standards for sustainable campus forestry required by Tree Campus USA, including establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and the sponsorship of student service-learning projects.
