News & Media Coverage 2018

The Janet A. Sipple Lecture for 2018 will be held on Friday, October 19 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Central Moravian Church at 73 W Church St, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
Spirk considered becoming Moravian College’s athletic director last year — three decades into her basketball coaching career. The Notre Dame-Green Pond graduate owned more than 550 career victories and was a senior women’s administrator at the time. She was on the back side of her career in athletics. She could have cruised toward retirement, spent her summer days on golf courses instead of in her office or traveling to conferences.
Ross is the former Senior Advisor for Innovation for the State Department and was named one of the “Top 100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy magazine and Huffington Post’s “10 Game Changers in Politics.”
Under the 3 + 3 Early Agreement Program, qualified Moravian students would be eligible to attend Rutgers following their junior year and would complete both their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees in a total of six years, rather than seven.
Starting this year, qualified Moravian students can attend Rutgers Law School after their junior year, allowing them to complete both their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees in six years instead of seven. To earn their Juris Doctor, students will have to complete 84 course credits of law classes, the same as is required of students in traditional programs.
This agreement, beginning with the 2018 – 2019 academic year, will allow qualified Moravian students to be eligible to attend Rutgers Law School following their junior year in order to complete both their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees in a total of six years, rather than seven.
“Moving up ten spots in the U.S. News & World Report rankings is a result of the hard work put in by our students, faculty, and staff over the last couple of years,” said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian College.
Smriti Keshari, one of the filmmakers behind “The Bomb”, will be present for a Q & A after the film with Moravian students and the general public in attendance.
The overall methodology for the rankings explores four key areas including resources, engagement, outcomes and environment.
Presented by the Cohen Arts & Lecture Series, Ross is considered one of America’s leading experts on innovation, cybersecurity, and internet freedom and is the author of the New York Times bestseller “The Industries of the Future.”
