Student Success Advisor
- Works with students prior to major declaration
- Provides support and referrals
- Assists with course planning and navigation of college systems, policies, processes
Faculty Advisor
- Guides students to engage in the intellectual community of the university
- Connects curricular learning to learning opportunities beyond the classroom
- Supports student connections to faculty
Career Strategist
- Provides continued career exploration support
- Helps students identify strengths, interests and values
- Navigates the Career Readiness Digital Badges
Your First Year
First-year students enter the University as "undeclared" and are assigned a Student Success Advisor. The Student Success Advisor collaborates with advisees to introduce opportunities at the University, create degree plans, and declare a major.
Student Success Advisors offer proactive, personal attention for:
- Transitioning into university life
- Exploring academic majors
- Understanding degree requirements
- Troubleshooting course concerns
- Referring students to campus resources
