Exposure

Workplace exposures occur when somebody is working with or around chemical, biological, and physical hazards that can lead to an acute or chronic illness or even death. If you were exposed to any of the following categories listed below, report the incident immediately.

  • Chemical Hazards - Solvents, adhesives, paints, toxic dust, laboratory chemicals.
  • Physical Hazards - Noise, radiation, heat, and vibrations.
  • Biological Hazards - Infectious bacteria, viruses, and bodily fluids.
  • Respiratory Hazards - Contaminated air such as harmful dust, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smoke, spray, or vapors.
  • Noise and Hearing Hazards - At minimum, an permissible noise exposure (PEL) to work related noises of 90 dBA over an eight (8) hour day. See full Chart for Noises.
