Moravian College to Host the 3rd Annual Michael L. Karapetian '97 Entrepreneurship Symposium for Student Entrepreneurs on Nov. 19

BETHLEHEM, PA., November 16, 2017: Today, Moravian College announced that it will host the 3rd Annual Michael L. Karapetian '97 Entrepreneurship Symposium in the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences on Sunday, November 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Main Street campus of Moravian College at 1107 Main Street, Bethlehem, Pa.

“The goal for the symposium is to instill in its participants a practical sense of how to apply their business education,” said Michael L. Karapetian '97. “Through this experience, it’s my hope that the participants come to realize that education doesn’t end with college, especially as it pertains to business.”

Similar to the ABC television show Shark Tank, the symposium will feature 24 Moravian College students pitching their business ideas in the hopes of advancing to the next round for the chance to win $4,000 to launch their idea. Speakers scheduled for the symposium include Jeanne Petrucci ‘86, MS, RDN, founder of Living Plate, Joe Durso ‘09, owner of KITCH Organic, Cliff Jackson ’09, founder ofGravity Rail Media and Drew Shreter ’12, director of business development for Prosthetic Orthotic Management Associates Corporation(POMAC)

"We are so thankful for Michael Karapetian's support of Moravian students and his support of the symposium," said Gary Kaskowitz, professor of economics and business at Moravian College and advisor to student participants. "We know our students gain so much from being exposed to successful business professionals, especially when they're Moravian graduates making a real impact on the business world."
