Bethlehem, Pa., October 30, 2015— Payne Gallery at Moravian College is currently exhibiting a major sculptural installation by artist Jules Buck Jones dubbed “Animal Facts Club” which runs through November 14th. Jones is known for energetic, fun, and socially engaging works of art. With help from Moravian College art students, Jones acquired all the materials and designs to construct this major one-time environment.

Jones draws, with an acute confidence, graphic images of hybridized animal forms. He is influenced by ecological and biological concerns, creating imagery of bizarre, fantastic happenings in nature. He works to incorporate the past, present and future as backdrops and the animal kingdom as the vehicle.

Jones earned his Masters of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA in 2005 and an MFA in Painting at the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX in 2008. During the summer of 2009, Jones was an artist in residence at the Everglades National Park in Homestead, Florida. His work has been exhibited throughout Texas and Virginia. In 2008, the Austin Museum of Art acquired a large drawing of Jones' for their permanent collection.

The gallery, named in honor of her parents, was made possible by the extraordinary generosity of Priscilla Payne Hurd.

Payne Gallery is located on the Priscilla Payne Hurd Campus of Moravian College, in historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Gallery is open 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Sunday. The gallery is closed Mondays, major holidays and during school breaks. Admission and parking are free, and the Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
