Sigma Tau Delta Book Drive—Ends December 19

In the spirit of this year’s In Focus theme, Poverty and Inequality, Sigma Tau Delta is undertaking a service project to promote recycling and literacy. “We are partnering with Better World Books to run a campus-wide book drive to raise funds for literacy projects such as building schools and libraries around the world,” says Marie Milols, president of Sigma Tau Delta, “and we hope to involve the entire campus in making a difference.”

Textbooks and books that would be used in the classroom are being collected. Better World Books will sell them and use the funds it raises to benefit literacy programs around the world

  • The book drive aims to accomplish four goals:
  • Raise money to support literacy
  • Donate books to literacy nonprofit and people in need around the world
  • Keep books out of landfills and the campus waste stream
  • Offer the campus a great outlet for unwanted books in usable condition

Donations of textbooks and books that would be used in the classroom are being accepted up to December 19th, and collection bins are located in the HUB.
