Student Philanthropy
I’m a student—why should I give?
We’ve all benefited from the generous contributions of the Hounds who came before us, and now it’s our turn to support the Hounds who will follow. Tuition and fees cover only about two-thirds of a Moravian education, and the rest is funded by the generous commitment of our donors.
When you give a gift to support current and future students, you are helping cover the tuition gap, as well as guarantee future Greyhounds have access to the same amazing experiences you are benefiting from right now. If you’re wondering, “Does my $5 donation really help?” Our answer is “absolutely”—every gift of any size makes an impact on our students and the future of Moravian!
Student Comenius Society
Any freshman, sophomore, or junior who gives $42 (as in 1742!) to Moravian, and any senior who gives $142, earns student membership in the Comenius Society. The Comenius Society comprises alumni, families, faculty/staff, students, and friends who carry on John Amos Comenius' visionary belief that education should be accessible to all, regardless of gender or social standing. Through their generous giving, Comenius Society members help advance this mission of innovation and inclusion, sustaining Moravian's legacy of educational excellence. Student members will receive invitations to special recognition and networking events, a social media shout-out, and recognition on digital monitors across campus.
Senior Class Gift
The Senior Class Gift Campaign is a long-standing Moravian tradition that introduces seniors to alumni giving and celebrates student philanthropy on campus. Through this campaign, seniors can leave a legacy by “paying it forward” to future Greyhounds. Seniors can contribute to the campaign at any point during their final year, and every gift of any size counts. Gifts may be made with cash, check, or credit card.
You can direct your gift to any area of Moravian that means the most to you—including the Moravian Scholarship Fund, Helping Hounds Fund, your favorite student organization, sports team, and more! Gifts can also be given in honor of a professor, coach, mentor, or staff member and include a personalized letter to the honoree. While all seniors are welcome at senior events, participation through giving is encouraged, as every contribution supports the experiences of future students and strengthens Moravian.
