Smoking and Vaping Policy

Moravian University is committed to providing a safe and clean campus and to promoting the health and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. As such, the following policy has been adopted by Moravian University and applies to all faculty, staff, students, and volunteers, as well as visitors.

In order to provide a safe and healthy campus environment for all students, employees, and visitors, smoking and vaping is prohibited in any campus building and within 20 feet of the entrance to or windows of any building owned, leased, rented, or operated by the University. Smoking and vaping is additionally prohibited in all recreational facilities/areas and inside all vehicles owned, leased, rented, or operated by the University.

Help with nicotine addiction is available through the St. Luke's Hospital helpline at (419) 893-QUIT (7848) and through the Lancaster General Health helpline at (888) 544-4636. Students may seek assistance through Moravian University’s Counseling Center and employees may seek assistance through the Employee Assistance Program.

Disciplinary and/or corrective action may be implemented as appropriate and in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook.
