This is a comprehensive intermediate level course for all medical professionals and graduate level rehabilitation students.
Participants will be introduced to a serious medical condition known as sepsis. Participants will hear presentations from multiple experts/disciplines focusing on the evaluation and treatment of geriatric patients with sepsis in the acute care setting.
Learning Objectives
1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of sepsis and criteria needed to make the diagnosis
2. Determine the effects of sepsis on various body systems
3. Explain the role of infectious disease in evaluation and treatment of sepsis
4. Define common medications for treatment of sepsis, including dosing and potential side effects
5. Appraise implications of sepsis for rehabilitation professionals and nutritional services
Target Audience: Healthcare/Rehabilitation clinicians and students

Moravian University is an approved provider for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and the Pennsylvania State Board Of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure. Occupational Therapists will receive a certificate verifying their participation for 6.5 hours of approved continuing education, which may be used toward PA State Licensure Continued Competency requirements and NBCOT certification renewal.
