BETHLEHEM, PA, March 8, 2022: Today, Moravian University announced that it will host Deepak Chopra on Tuesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall on the Main Street campus of the university.  Chopra’s presentation, Tagore and the Human Universe: An Evening with Deepak Chopra, is part of the Rabindranath Tagore Distinguished Lecture Series and is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore, the Bengali poet, philosopher, novelist, and painter best known for being the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913.  This event at Moravian University is free and open to the public, however registration is required.

“We’re honored to host Deepak Chopra here in Bethlehem, especially after two years when in-person events have been few and far between,” commented Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian University.  “Arup SenGupta from the Tagore-SenGupta Foundation has been an excellent partner for Moravian and continues to support this important lecture series.”

Deepak Chopra, MD, FACP is founder of The Chopra Foundation, a non-profit entity for research on well-being and humanitarianism, and Chopra Global, a modern-day health company at the intersection of science and spirituality, is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation. Chopra is an Adjunct Professor of Urology at Mount Sinai, Professor of Internal Medicine at University of Central Florida, Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of California, San Diego and serves as a senior scientist with Gallup Organization.

Chopra is the author of over 90 books translated into over forty-three languages, including numerous New York Times bestsellers. His latest book, Abundance – The Inner Path to Wealth unlocks how you can cultivate a sense of abundance in times of fear and insecurity and is now available.

“In spite of all the divide and proliferation of walls, deep down, we all want to live in a society 'where the mind is without fear and the head is held high' and also again in Tagore's words, 'where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls.’” said Arup SenGupta, P.C. Rossin professor at Lehigh University. “That is why Tagore is immensely relevant today” SenGupta added.

TIME magazine has described Dr. Chopra as “one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century."
