Study Abroad & Study Away

The Center for Global Education at Moravian University is dedicated to breaking down the borders of your college education. We want you to expand your horizons and be ready to live and work in a world that demands a global perspective. While at Moravian, this might mean attending the international climate change conference, traveling across Spain with your favorite professor to visit castles and monasteries from the Middle Ages, going to Japan for two weeks to study World War II from a unique perspective, or visiting the Oregon coast to explore the tide pools.

Now is your chance—join the #GlobalGreyhounds movement! Students majoring in any subject can go abroad during a winter term, spring break, May term, summer term, semester, or for a year. Plus, our ELEVATE experience guarantees travel for all! We also assist international students who wish to study abroad at Moravian University on an exchange. Here are the steps to begin your journey abroad:

Steps to Study Abroad

  1. Create your Global Greyhound study abroad profile.
  2. Schedule a meeting by emailing studyabroad@moravian.edu to meet with Assistant Director for Study Abroad, Ms. Bryn Wiragh, to talk about programs, travel plans, costs, and course pre-approval.
  3. Complete course approval forms and make an appointment to see a Financial Aid advisor (if eligible).
  4. Apply for scholarships.
  5. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss the courses you will take abroad.
  6. Plan your trip and finalize travel plans with Dr. Appel and Ms. Wiragh
  7. Attend a pre-departure orientation.

Global Greyhounds, we know you will be transformed by your study abroad, so let’s make a little Global Greyhound Magic by getting everything planned and ready for your trip.  I understand that I must pay Moravian Tuition if I would like to be considered and eligible for Moravian University scholarships, grants, and other State/ Federal funds.  I understand that if I select an Affiliate program, Moravian will pay up to $10,000.00 toward my Spring or Fall Semester (excludes winter and summer terms) educational expenses only (This does not include housing, meals, or expenses that are not educational tuition-based fees).  If the program's costs are in excess of $10,000.00, I also understand that I will be billed directly from the program provider.

COVID-19 Disclaimer: Due to the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic we cannot guarantee travel or entrance into a destination or a program because of COVID-19 related delays and /or closures.  In addition, should travel occur outside of the United States or between States, we cannot guarantee re-entry with or without vaccine requirement and/or quarantine as determined by the intended destination and return location.
