Graduate Athletic Training Certificates

Build on your clinical experience as a licensed healthcare professional with graduate athletic training certificates from Moravian University. Our fully-online graduate certificates strengthen your skills in evaluating, treating, and researching injuries and conditions commonly encountered in sports medicine.

Choose from five specialized 12-credit graduate certificates that can be completed independently or alongside Moravian’s Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) program. Each certificate consists of four asynchronous online courses, giving you the flexibility to continue working while advancing your education.

Advanced Assessment in Clinical Care

This graduate certificate equips healthcare practitioners with the specialized clinical reasoning necessary to manage complex musculoskeletal pathologies and mild traumatic brain injuries (concussion). Through an evidence-based lens, students will synthesize current research to refine their diagnostic accuracy and implement advanced intervention strategies.

Advanced Clinical Orthopedics

Bridge the gap between entry-level athletic training and specialized orthopedic practice. By integrating advanced musculoskeletal assessment with intensive radiological interpretation, this curriculum prepares clinicians to function at the top of their license in orthopedic and primary care settings. Students will master the diagnostic reasoning and imaging proficiency required for sophisticated patient management.

Advanced Clinical Perspectives in Athletic Training

By moving beyond traditional musculoskeletal care, clinicians will develop specialized expertise in performing arts medicine, nutrition, mental health intervention, and the unique needs of diverse patient populations.

Clinical Research and Implementation Science

Focus on the systematic translation of healthcare research into real-world clinical practice. This graduate certificate equips healthcare professionals with the rigorous methodological tools necessary to evaluate clinical outcomes, design robust research studies, and bridge the "know-do" gap through the emerging field of implementation science.

Sport Psychology

Develop the specialized framework for optimizing the psychological and emotional components of human performance. Our curriculum integrates theoretical foundations with evidence-based intervention strategies, enabling clinicians to address the complex mental demands of injury recovery, stress management, and elite performance.

Students who complete one athletic training graduate certificate at Moravian may pursue a second certificate, with up to 50% of credits from the first certificate eligible to apply toward the new program. These certificates can also serve as a direct pathway into Moravian’s 60-credit DAT program, with each 12-credit certificate representing 20% of the degree requirements.
