Iota Iota Iota
Gamma Xi Chapter - National Honor Society
Iota Iota Iota (Triota) is the academic honor society for the field of Women’s and Gender Studies. Alpha Chapter of Triota was established in 1992 at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Greek Letter, Iota, was selected for the name to represent the three goddesses: Inana, Ishtar, and Isis. Triota strives to maintain the feminist values central to Women’s and Gender Studies and encourage diversity, egalitarianism, and supportive academic environments for all students. The society also promotes and facilitates activism among Women’s and Gender Studies students.
Since its founding, Triota has established over 108 chapters across the nation. Gamma Xi Chapter of Triota was chartered at Moravian College on March 7, 2014. Members of Gamma Xi come from all academic disciplines. Gamma Xi promotes an interest in Women’s and Gender Studies, research in social problems affecting all women, and activism that leads to improvement in the condition of all people.
