Blue & Grey 5k

The Blue & Grey 5K is now completely virtual! Between now and Sunday, October 17, you can complete your 5K at any time. There is no fee, and all participants are eligible to win a prize for their race times!

Return and Learn - "Bringing Space Observations to a rural Bangladeshi Village" with Dr. Sonia Aziz

This research involves a socioeconomic experiment that provides a satellite data–driven early warning system for cholera in Bangladesh through access to a cell phone app. By studying cholera rates and other outcome metrics in a rural Bangladeshi village, we expect to provide estimates of potential societal benefits of satellite data as well as necessary inputs for policymakers to design and implement effective policies to limit the incidence and spread of cholera. The project team includes academics from several institutions, including Emily Pakhtigian (Penn State University), Ali Akanda (University of Rhode Island), and Kevin J. Boyle (Virginia Tech).
