Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Student Learning Outcomes

  • Analyze the intersection between gender and other socially-meaningful categories such as: race, class, ethnicity, nationality, and sexuality, and explain how gender—as informed by the other categories—functions in various contexts
  • Apply a gender analysis to their everyday lives and to past and present events, both locally and globally
  • Identify and assess transnational perspectives on gender, women’s issues, and feminist theory
  • Effectively communicate findings informed by gender analysis orally, in writing, and using new forms of technology
  • Utilize their understandings of feminist and other critical theories in real-life situations such as advocacy or activism
