EMT Program

SLUHN

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course offered through Moravian University, in partnership with St. Luke's University Health Network, includes the knowledge and skills required to provide basic pre-hospital emergency care. Students in the EMT course will be taught the knowledge and skills required to provide basic pre-hospital emergency care.

Students enrolled in the EMT program have the opportunity to complete clinical experiences with local ambulance companies and in St. Luke's Emergency Departments. During their clinical experiences students engage patients, work as part of the interprofessional healthcare team, and practice their clinical skills under the supervision of a preceptor. Moravian's EMT program emphasizes professionalism, critical thinking, communication, and a team-based approach to healthcare.

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Exam required for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania EMT certification. This course meets all the educational requirements for the certification process as specified in the regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
