2023

Eugene Abromitis Moved from Florida to West Virginia in February of 2023. A nasty hurricane damaged their roof. They arrived in WV at the new house in time for a local flood! There is wonderful mountain scenery in WV. He is working a couple of days a week to help the church pantry. 100% disabled as a result of the Vietnam War. Served in the 25th Infantry. He loves doing charity work. God bless everyone.

Jeffery Baird Retired in 2020 after a career as a city planning consultant in California and internationally. Now live in Italy most of the year and California.

Russell Salvatore Nicrone passed away on July 31, 2023

Janice Fischel Greetings from snowy New Hampshire where they have lived since 1973, save for several sabbaticals on the West Coast. Her husband retired in 2019, after 46 years of teaching at Dartmouth College. She is still happily busy with her photographic note card (www.jgfischel.com) business. She does the photography, makes the cards, and sells them to gift shops and indie bookstores, among other locations. Their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson live in Acton, MA. Both Josh and Cameren are teachers. They are coming up on our 50th wedding anniversary this summer.

John Maloney, Jr. retired in 2006 after 33 years in the insurance industry. He relocated to Arizona 3 years ago after his wife retired.

Susan Ballek Figlar passed away on December 1, 2019.

Former baseball teammates Jim Dietz and Jack Shaw '72 were pictured with former Mets and Yankees pitcher Doc Gooden at the 2020 Union County (NJ) Baseball Hot Stove Luncheon. Jim, the former Summit HS baseball coach, was inducted into the Union County Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2020 during the awards program. Jack, the former Roselle Park HS baseball coach, was inducted in 2015. Jim also served as assistant head football coach at Summit for many years. Jim, a MU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, and his wife, Louise Gardiner Dietz, are enjoying retirement in Scottsdale, AZ. Jim is playing a lot of golf and enjoying his family and grandchildren.
