2024

Dr. Kathleen Malu was selected by the U.S. Department of State for the Prestigious English Language Specialist Project. She is focusing on the creation of English Club materials for use with the Burmese refugee population in Thailand at the American University Alumni Association Language Center. Dr. Malu has more than 50 years of experience in education at the K-12, higher education, and adult education levels in a wide variety of settings around the world. Malu is a leader in the creation of English Club handbooks and virtual materials that are available worldwide through the U.S. Department of State’s Office of English Language Programs. Peace Corps Volunteer (Zaire, 1973-75; Rwanda, 1980-81) and a Fulbright Scholar (Rwanda-2009-2010; United Kingdom-2017) she has served as an English Language Specialist in South Africa, Angola, DR Congo, R Congo, Sénégal, Guinée, and Fulbright Specialist in Romania. She taught literacy and research courses at the masters level for many years before leaving the university in 2023. She will use this information to create an English club handbook for refugees and displaced persons in Burma and Thailand. Jeffery A. “Jeff” Toth passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022.

2023

 Ken VanCor retired in 2012. 2013 and took an extensive trip through South America, primarily Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina to visit friends. His hobbies for many years now have been the creation of original pieces of mosaic and stained glass. He does a few Christmas bazaars a year. He also buys and sells antiques since he has a booth in an antique shop here on Cape Cod. He has plenty to keep him busy.

 Paula Ann Wilson passed away on September 14th, 2023.

 Charles "Chuck" Addison Rheinhardt passed away on November 16, 2021.

Brother Bernard Seif is a published author. He has written a book titled Being Who You Are: The Universal Vocation.

2020

Thomas O'Neil passed away on December 5, 2020.

Edward Narlesky volunteers his time in the accounting department for his local hospital, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Since retirement, Lynn Buralli Pernezny has completed training as a Florida-certified Master Gardener. Until the pandemic, she was an active volunteer at Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach serving as a docent and as a member of the education and children's program committees. She and her husband are both active church musicians, and they also serve their Unitarian Universalist congregation as co-chairs of the music committee.
