CURRICULUM
Moravian's accelerated curriculum allows you to finish our DPT program in 2 1/2 years with a December graduation with our first cohort anticipated graduation in 2023. This allows you to be eligible for the January licensure board exam in 2024 and to be able to enter the workforce sooner than typical 3-year programs! **The final accreditation decision by CAPTE will occur in the Fall of 2023.
The DPT curriculum in the developing doctor of physical therapy program has been created with the goal of creating DPT generalists able to practice in diverse clinical settings upon graduation. The curriculum embraces active learning principles and immerses students in the clinic early in the program allowing students to apply knowledge and skills in real-life environments. The eight-semester program (2.5 years) allows students to learn using a distinctive approach of student-directed learning in a team-based format rather than traditional lectures. Students are able to practice skills in an advanced clinical simulation center incorporating high and low-fidelity simulators and standardized patient actors that mimic authentic clinical encounters. With a combination of board-certified clinical specialists and doctorally trained faculty, students obtain a world-class education from experts with varied areas of expertise.
