AIM students in class

Notes from AIM 2023

Last year we were excited to welcome 11 students to campus for the Advance into Moravian 2023 program. Newly redesigned, the 2023 program featured a variety of academic, programmatic, and social activities meant to introduce students to college life at Moravian University.

Here are some of the topics we covered in last year’s program:

  • Accessing Academic Support Resources
  • Career Development at the University
  • Student Success Panel from Upperclass Moravian Students
  • Mental Health and Wellness
  • Student Engagement and Club Participation
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University
  • Navigating Financial Aid
  • International Study and Service Abroad Opportunities
  • Community Service and Civic Engagement
  • Social Experiences both on and off campus
  • Weekly Team Building Experiences

Notes from members of our previous Advance into Moravian cohorts:

“It helped me feel more ready to handle the workload that comes with attending college”

“It helped me get out of my shell a little bit and helped with improving my writing.”

Notes from our codirectors:

“One of the most important components of the AIM program is the connections made between students, staff, and faculty involved. It really becomes a close-knit community that extends far beyond the summer program and into the Fall semester and beyond.”

- Chris Hassay, Program Co-Coordinator, Academic Experience

“This intensive summer experience provides the opportunity to form relationships that will help a student throughout their entire experience at Moravian.”

- Alvert Hernandez, Program Co-Coordinator, Student Experience
