Class of 2024 Summer To-Do List

New students receive a weekly email each Wednesday afternoon featuring important action items. Below are the current summer to-do items.

1. Get to know your classmates.

Join the Class of 2024 Facebook page and make sure you follow Moravian College on Twitter and Instagram! Don’t forget to use #MoravianBound on your social posts to connect with future classmates, current students, and alumni.

2. Get into the habit.

Look for an email from the Moravian College Student Life team every Wednesday from now until early August. This is where we’ll outline your next steps for the week and make sure you never miss a deadline or important to-do! Now is also a great time to get in the habit of checking your Moravian College Gmail account. Eventually, that’s where you’ll receive all Moravian-related communications.

3. Download the New Student Checklist.

We want you to be prepared for your first semester as a Hound! Download the new student checklist, so you never miss an important deadline or to-do item. Print it. Share it. Love it. You can even hang it on your fridge!

4. Complete the student life questionnaire.

Complete your online questionnaire before Friday, June 19. This is your chance to indicate your housing preferences, meal plan selection, and emergency contact information. Housing placements are determined based on the date of your deposit and the date of your questionnaire submission—the earlier the better!

5. Complete your online academic registration survey.

Complete your online academic pre-registration survey under the New Students tab in AMOS before Monday, June 1. Your survey responses will help us build your fall 2020 course schedule, assign your academic advisor, and more. Academic schedules will be finalized later this summer.

6. Get ready for your high school graduation.

We’re so excited for you to graduate from high school because that means you’re one step closer to joining us at Moravian College! Don’t forget to file a request with your guidance office to have your final transcript sent to us.

Having a virtual graduation party? Download a Moravian College Zoom background to show your college pride!

7. Request your technology.

We would have loved to hand out your brand new Apple MacBook Pro and iPad during an Accepted Students Day on campus. But since that’s not a possibility right now, you can request for your technology to be shipped directly to you! After you submit your enrollment deposit, keep an eye out for an email with the subject line “Request Your Apple Technology Today!”

8. Review your e-bill.

Review an email in your Moravian College account from the Office of Student Accounts sent as early as Friday, May 15, which will include a direct link to your AMOS account. Login to amos.moravian.edu. Click the Student Accounts Portal from your AMOS homepage to view your Moravian e-bill. By Wednesday, July 22, payment, secured financial aid, and/or payment plan enrollment is due.

9. Consider a payment plan.

Moravian College offers payment plans to help make paying for college easier and more affordable. All payment plan info is found in the Student Accounts Portal via AMOS.

10. Remember financial aid requirements.

Complete all financial aid requirements, including submission of all requested documents, before Wednesday, July 22. Review your messages on the AMOS Financial Aid Portal. Federal Direct Loan Borrowers also need to complete loan entrance counseling and the Master Promissory Note before Wednesday, July 22.

11. Prepare your health forms.

Complete and submit your health forms before Wednesday, July 22. Physicals must occur on or after August 1 of the prior year. Learn more on the new students guide webpage. Forms are available at moravian.edu/healthcenter

12. Waive or enroll in health insurance.

Moravian students are required to provide proof of Health Insurance coverage each academic year. Students who have health insurance need to complete the waiver online before Wednesday, July 22 to have the Health Insurance charge removed from your account in time to meet the payment due date. Students who currently do not have health insurance have the option to enroll and purchase coverage. Learn more about how to waive or enroll in coverage, insurance plan details, billing procedures, and more. Coverage will begin on August 1, 2020 and be effective through July 31, 2021.

13. Summer Reading Assignment due August 10.

Every year, new Moravian students take part in a common reading that they will write in response to and discuss in their First Year Writing Seminar class. This is always related to the InFocus program, which is a signature part of the Moravian experience. This year, students are reading We Are The Weather by Jonathan Safron Foer. You will find your full writing assignment and more information in Summer FAIR on Canvas.

14. Room assignments are now available!

The Office of Housing posted room assignments for resident students on the New Student tab on AMOS! Look for a separate email from Housing that outlines next steps and items to consider.

Talk with your roommate about what to bring and how to layout out the furniture in your new room! Also, learn about your residence hall amenities, what to bring, and what to leave at home. Request a specific furniture layout on the New Student tab on AMOS by Friday, July 31 and our team will do their best to have the furniture arranged before your arrival.

15. Read, review, and agree to the Student Handbook.

Read and review the 2020-2021 Moravian College Student Handbook. Before your arrival on campus, you must agree (via AMOS) to abide by Moravian College guidelines.
