2024-2025 Guide to Housing Selection
Full-time undergraduate students are guaranteed and are expected to live on-campus or commute from their permanent address. Off-campus releases are offered to a select number of eligible students. The University anticipates releasing approximately 50 students off-campus for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Returning students interested in changing status for the upcoming year are expected to identify their preferred status on the Housing Status Application before February 23, 2024. This is the one time when students can freely request a change of housing status.
Students who do not complete the Housing Status Application (available from January 16 - February 23, 2024) will continue as an on-campus resident or commuter, based on their current housing status. Current off-campus students who do not complete the Housing Status Application will be assigned to on-campus resident status.
On-Campus Housing Status
Full-time undergraduate students are guaranteed on-campus housing. Full-time undergraduate students whose permanent address is more than 50-miles from the University are required to live on campus.
Off-Campus Resident Status
Eligible students who apply for and are approved (by the University) may rent from a private landlord, in non-University owned housing. An off-campus lease should not be signed until a student has received formal approval from the University on March 8, 2024.
The university anticipates releasing approximately 50 students off-campus for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Students who do not submit the Housing Status Application by the deadline will not be considered for release later in the year.
- Junior or senior, or 20 years of age on the first day of the Fall 2024 semester
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Good financial and conduct standing
Current residents not approved to live off-campus will be included in General Selection.
Members of a fraternity or sorority may be eligible for a "conditional off-campus approval" until the chapter submits a complete list of house residents, as well as three viable alternate residents, for the 2024-2025 academic year. Once a complete list of residents and alternates is submitted to the Office of Greek Life, members who do not appear on the housing assignment list and applied for off-campus living may be granted an "off-campus approval.”
Students who are approved for off-campus will not be issued a General Selection Admission Ticket.
Students interested in commuting, must reside with a parent or legal guardian at an address within a 50-mile radius of the University. Any student who is found living off-campus and/or whose name appears on a lease or other agreement for an off-campus property without prior approval by Moravian University, will be charged (and given access to) an on-campus room and meal plan for the entire academic year.
Current residents not approved to commute will be included in the General Selection process.
Students released to commuter status will not be issued a General Selection Admission Ticket.
Non-Participation in the Housing Process
Students not intending to return due to graduation, transferring, withdrawing or taking a leave of absence, or studying abroad during Fall 2024 may elect not to participate in the housing processes. These students will not be issued a General Selection Admission Ticket.
Important Note: Students who select a 2024-2025 assignment but decide to study abroad or take a leave of absence during Fall 2024 will forfeit their assignment. These students will not be guaranteed their selected assignment upon return, but are guaranteed on-campus housing. The University will work to assign them a housing assignment prior to their return.
